Wednesday Worship

Our pastor is concluding his sermon series on Ecclesiastes with two messages titled "The Absurdity of Death." After his message on Sunday, this song that we sing came to mind. The next day we received an e-mail with this coming Sunday's songs. It Is Not Death To Die was on the list of songs! Click on the message title above to listen to the message and click on the song title below to listen to the song.

It Is Not Death To Die
Original words by Henri Malan (1787–1864). Translated by George Bethune (1847). Music, chorus, and alternate words by Bob Kauflin

It is not death to die
To leave this weary road
And join the saints who dwell on high
Who’ve found their home with God
It is not death to close
The eyes long dimmed by tears
And wake in joy before Your throne
Delivered from our fears

Chorus

O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die

It is not death to fling
Aside this earthly dust
And rise with strong and noble wing
To live among the just
It is not death to hear
The key unlock the door
That sets us free from mortal years
To praise You evermore

Wednesday Worship

We sang the song, Completely Done, again in church on Sunday. I love the message of this song! For some (actually many) reason(s), I can never get through it without tears! Do you all have songs like that?
Completely Done
What reason have I to doubt
Why would I dwell in fear
When all I have known is grace
My future in Christ is clear
My sins have been paid in full
There's no condemnation here
I live in the good of this
My Father has brought me near
I'm leaving my fears behind me now
Chorus
The old is gone, the new has come
What You complete is completely done
We're heirs with Christ, the victory won
What You complete is completely done
I don't know what lies ahead
What if I fail again
You are my confidence
You'll keep me to the end
I'm leaving my fears behind me now
By Jonathan Baird, Ryan Baird, and Rich Gunderlock as recorded on the album Sons & Daughters.
You can listen to the song at Sovereign Grace Music.

Monday Miscellany

Have you heard of Triad: 4 Christ? We had the opportunity to go to Jamar Esaw and Triad: 4 Christ's CD release concert at Shiloh Temple on Saturday evening. Check them out for some good gospel music!
